Competa Archez FC v The Victoria FC

After our 9-1 beating last time out at the San Roque stadium in Torrox, we were back at Nerja playing our fourth match in the FA (Foreigners Abroad) League. We were playing The Victoria FC from Nerja who had been responsible for our 10-1 drubbing in the first match we’d played.

It was an earlier kick off than normal as The Victoria boys had to get finished in time to open up their bar in Nerja. Priorities, you see! The kick-off was 10am and after getting my head down at 2.30am it was a tough call! It was also a little early for our keeper, Curro, who had to be woken up by Tom and Valdo apparently by jumping on him! Is it like this in the Premiership?

The Pearl of the Axarquia

According to its townhall, Canillas de Albaida is The Pearl of the Axarquia. Rose Jones gives us a guided tour. Canillas de Albaida is 5 minutes drive from Cómpeta and about 2 minutes from Archez.

It would have been very romantic if there weren’t still drivers with cars shaking to DUB-DUBBA-DUBBA, weaving drunkenly along the same route. But eventually we came to Canillas for itself.

Hello again. Well the Christmas festivities are over and we are now into a new year. I am sure most of us will have eaten and drunk to excess and made the usual New Year resolutions to change our diets, drink less etc, only to have fallen by the wayside before the end of January……

But what are we truly doing to our bodies? We read daily in the media of the damage caused by overeating, especially the foods that are really bad for us, as well as the effect over- dinking is having on
